AD/CESSNA 210/28 - Gear Warning and Fuel Pump Switches Operating Cable - Inspection and Replacement - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aircraft safety rule for Cessna 210 series aeroplanes (light, single-engine aircraft).

What the old rule required Since 1977, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority required a one-time inspection of the control cables that operate the landing gear warning and fuel pump switches. Mechanics had to check if a specific "plastic inner cable" was fitted, as this was identified as potentially unsafe.

Why it's being cancelled After 31 years, the regulator assumes every affected aircraft has already been inspected. The unsafe condition no longer exists because any problematic cables would have been identified and replaced by now.

Who is affected Pilots, aircraft owners, and maintenance engineers who operate or service Cessna 210 aircraft. They no longer need to comply with this specific inspection requirement.

When it takes effect The cancellation applies from 10 April 2008.
