Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety instruction (called an Airworthiness Directive) requiring specific Cessna aircraft owners to inspect a particular part—the rudder trim chain.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 210 model aircraft with specific serial numbers: 21060540 through 21060820, plus serial numbers 60889, 60901–60903, and 60906–60909.

What must be done: Inspect the rudder trim chain (the mechanical linkage that adjusts the rudder to help the plane fly straight without constant foot pressure on the pedals) according to Cessna Service Letter SE76-3.

When: The inspection must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after 31 May 1976.

Why it matters: This prevents potential failure of the rudder trim system, which could affect the aircraft's stability and control during flight.
