AD/CESSNA 210/18 - Alternator Earth Lead - Inspection - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that was issued in 1972 for Cessna 210 series aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 210 series aeroplanes. However, since this removes a requirement rather than adding one, it simplifies compliance.

What it means: The original 1972 rule required a one-time inspection of the alternator earth lead (the electrical grounding wire that connects the alternator to the aircraft's electrical system) to ensure it was properly attached and in good condition.

Why it matters: Because this was a one-off inspection required back in 1972, the regulator (CASA) determined that every affected aircraft would have been inspected by now. The unsafe condition no longer exists, so the rule is unnecessary. The cancellation took effect on 10 April 2008.
