Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety inspection rule for specific light aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 210D and 210E aeroplanes.

What it requires: Inspect the alternator earth lead — the wire that grounds the electrical generator (alternator) to the aircraft's metal frame. You must verify three things:

The wire is actually installed (not missing)
It is in good condition (not frayed, corroded, or damaged)
It is securely attached at both ends

Why it matters: A loose or missing earth lead can cause electrical failures, battery drain, or overheating that could lead to fire. This directive targets a specific mechanical defect to prevent in-flight emergencies.
