AD/CESSNA 210/13 - Control Systems - Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aircraft safety rule that has been in place since 1970.

What it does

• Withdraws Airworthiness Directive (AD) number 13 for Cessna 210 series aeroplanes
• Removes the legal requirement for owners and operators to check for and replace specific faulty lock nuts on control systems

Who it affects

• Owners and operators of Cessna 210 series aircraft
• Maintenance organisations working on these planes

Why it matters The original 1970 directive required a one-time replacement of certain NAS 679 lock nuts (fasteners used in the aircraft's control systems) that were manufactured with a defect in 1969. After 38 years, aviation regulators determined every affected nut has already been replaced, so the unsafe condition no longer exists. This cancellation officially removes the compliance burden while confirming the fleet is safe.
