What this does

This document formally cancels (revokes) an Airworthiness Directive (a legally binding aviation safety instruction issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority) for Cessna 208 aircraft. Specifically, it cancels AD/CESSNA 208/20 Amdt 1, which previously imposed safety requirements on these planes when flying in icing conditions (weather where ice can form on the aircraft).

Who it affects

Owners, operators, and pilots of Cessna 208 series aeroplanes (commonly called Caravans).

What changes

As of 13 March 2008, the requirements in the old directive no longer apply. Operators must now follow a replacement rule—AD/CESSNA 208/21—instead.

Why it matters

This prevents confusion from having overlapping or outdated safety rules. By formally cancelling the old directive, the authority ensures everyone follows only the current, updated safety standard found in the new directive.
