Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: This is a safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority that mandates urgent maintenance on specific Cessna aircraft.

What it requires: Owners and operators of Cessna 207 series aeroplanes must inspect and repair the right-hand wing rear spar (a critical structural beam inside the wing) following the specific instructions in Cessna Service Letter SE73-19.

Who it affects: Anyone who owns or operates a Cessna 207 aircraft with serial numbers starting from 20700001 and onwards.

The deadline: The work had to be completed within 100 hours of flying time after 31 October 1973.

Why it matters: This prevents potential structural failure in the wing. If the rear spar cracks or fails during flight, it could cause the wing to break apart, leading to a catastrophic accident.
