AD/CESSNA 207/17 - Fuel Vent Tube - CANCELLED

What this is: This document formally cancels an old aircraft safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that applied to Cessna 207 aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: Originally issued in 1978, the rule required inspections of the fuel vent tube installation on certain Cessna 207 aircraft. The manufacturer had identified that some fuel vent tubes were installed incorrectly, which could potentially cause safety issues.

Why it's being cancelled: Since the rule is 30 years old, aviation safety authorities are satisfied that every affected aircraft has been inspected by now. The unsafe condition no longer exists, so the rule is unnecessary and is formally removed from the books.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 207 series aircraft. In practice, this cancellation simply tidies up the regulations by removing a requirement that everyone has already complied with years ago.
