Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued by Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority requiring specific maintenance action on Cessna 206 aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 206 series aeroplanes that have an extension piece fitted to the drain cock of the accumulator fuel tank.

What you must do: Follow the instructions in Rex Aviation Technical Memorandum TM-25 (dated 5 March 1969) regarding the fuel system drain cock. This likely involves inspecting, modifying, or replacing the extension piece to prevent fuel system failures.

When you must do it: Within 100 hours of flight time ("time in service") after 1 August 1969.

Why this matters: Fuel system defects can lead to fuel leaks, engine failure, or fire. This directive mandates a specific safety fix to keep the aircraft airworthy.
