Plain English Summary

Mandates inspection of bladder‑type fuel cells on listed Cessna 206s per Cessna SIL SE 84‑4, requires recording results in the aircraft logbook, and requires purging the fuel system where cells show wrinkles or folds. Initial compliance is before further flight after 31 August 1984 for fitted cells and at installation thereafter; aircraft modified under Cessna SIL SE 84‑9 Rev 1 follow different replacement instructions. Operators and maintenance personnel bear inspection, purging and logbook costs; fuel cap testing was removed from this Directive and handled separately.

Thereafter, for cells that exhibited signs of unacceptable wrinkles or folds at initial inspection, repeat the system purging procedures at each issue of a new Maintenance Release.
