Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) issued under the Civil Aviation Regulations 1998 that requires specific Cessna aircraft owners to fix a potential fuel vent tube problem.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna Model 206 aircraft with serial numbers between 20603522 and 20604211.

What it requires: Affected aircraft must undergo maintenance or inspection of the fuel vent tube following the exact instructions in Cessna Service Letter SE78-40. This prevents potential fuel leaks or ventilation failures that could create fire or engine stoppage hazards.

When it had to be done: Within 100 hours of flight time after 30 September 1978. (This is a historical directive from 1978; any aircraft covered by this AD would have required compliance decades ago.)
