Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive is a mandatory safety order requiring specific Cessna aircraft to undergo inspection or repair of their rudder trim chain system.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Cessna model U206 aeroplanes with serial numbers U20602580 through U20602699, plus specific additional serial numbers: 02843, 02856, 02865, 02871, 02877, 02882, 02886, and 02887.

What must be done: Follow the procedures outlined in Cessna Service Letter SE76-3 to inspect and correct any issues with the rudder trim chain.

Deadline for compliance: Within 100 hours of flight time (time in service) after 31 May 1976.

Why this matters: The rudder trim chain is a critical component that helps control the aircraft's yaw (side-to-side movement). If this chain fails or malfunctions, the pilot could lose proper directional control, creating a serious flight safety risk.
