Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What it does: This order requires owners and operators of certain Cessna 206 aircraft to inspect or repair the right-hand wing rear spar — a vital structural beam that supports the wing.

Who it affects: All Cessna 206 model aircraft with serial numbers P206-0486 and later.

What action is required: Follow the instructions in Cessna Service Letter SE73-19 (a technical bulletin issued by the manufacturer).

Deadline: Complete the work within 100 hours of flight time (counted from when the aircraft is airborne) after 31 October 1973.

Why it matters: The rear spar is critical to wing integrity. This directive prevents potential structural failure that could lead to loss of the aircraft.
