Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Cessna 188-series aircraft to inspect certain fuel strainer assemblies (parts shipped from Cessna 12 Dec 1996–5 Sep 1997), measure the standpipe to confirm it does not exceed 1.68 inches, and replace the top assembly if it does, following Cessna SEB97-9 (Requirement). Inspections must occur within 12 months and any required replacement before further flight (Compliance).

A non‑student pilot may review records and certify parts were not fitted; otherwise the aircraft owner/operator bears the inspection and replacement costs. The AD is issued by the CASA delegate under CAR 1998 and cites FAA AD 2000-06-01 (Note).
