AD/CESSNA 188/43 - Aircraft Repair - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule that required special inspections on certain Cessna 188 agricultural aircraft (known as 'Agwagons').

What the old rule required: The previous directive applied only to Cessna 188 planes that had been repaired by a specific company—Capricorn Aircraft Repair of Thangool—between 1985 and 1990. Owners had to get a one-time inspection done at the next scheduled maintenance check after March 1991.

Why it's being cancelled: The repairs in question happened over 20 years ago. Enough time has passed that the safety risk is no longer a concern, making the rule obsolete.

What happens now: Effective 17 January 2008, owners and operators of these aircraft no longer need to comply with this specific inspection requirement.
