Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive for Cessna 188 “Agwagon” aircraft requires installing a cockpit warning placard reading: "Refer Flight Manual for special fuel/water drain procedures". It reminds pilots of updated drain procedures because water contamination from rain, snow, or drum refueling can cause engine failure.

It applies to Cessna 188 serials listed in Service Information Letter SE84‑4, required before flight after 31 Dec 1985. A qualified pilot may initially sign the release; a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer must verify at the next inspection.
