This directive requires owners/operators of Cessna 188 aircraft (serials 18800050–18803240) to install or verify an alternator ground strap per Cessna SIL SE79‑59, enforced by CASA. Compliance is required within 100 hours after 31 March 1982 and must be repeated whenever an engine is installed. The rule addresses reported omissions on engine refits to reduce alternator/earthing failures; affected operators bear parts, labour and downtime for the recurring verification/installation.
