Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is an aviation safety directive (an Airworthiness Directive) requiring owners and operators of specific Cessna aircraft to perform a critical electrical safety check.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna Model A188 aircraft (part of the Agwagon agricultural aircraft series).

What you must do: Check that the alternator earth lead (the electrical ground wire that connects the alternator to the aircraft's earth system) is:

Actually fitted/installed
In good condition (not frayed, corroded, or damaged)
Securely attached

When you must comply: Within 100 hours of flight time after 29 February 1972.

Why it matters: A loose, damaged, or missing earth lead can cause electrical system failures. In an aircraft, this could lead to loss of electrical power, battery failure, or even fire - creating serious flight safety risks.
