AD/CESSNA 188/15 - Control Systems - CANCELLED

What this is: An Airworthiness Directive (a safety order issued for aircraft) that has been cancelled.

What it originally did: First issued in 1970, this directive required owners of Cessna 188 "Agwagon" agricultural aircraft to replace specific lock nuts (NAS 679 nuts) that were installed between April and November 1969. These nuts had a suspected manufacturing flaw that could potentially affect the aircraft's control systems.

Why it matters now: This directive was officially cancelled on 14 February 2008. The cancellation occurred because sufficient time had passed that all affected nuts would have been replaced by now, meaning the safety risk no longer exists. This document simply records that cancellation and confirms the directive no longer applies.

Current status: This directive has no legal effect and imposes no current requirements on aircraft owners.
