Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This rule requires owners/operators of Cessna 185 aircraft in the agricultural category to upgrade the pilot’s shoulder harness to an inertia-reel attachment, installed exactly as shown in Rex Aviation Drawing Nos. RA375, RA375-1, and RA375-2.

It improves crash protection by allowing normal movement in flight while locking during sudden stops, reducing forward flail and risk of serious head, neck, and spinal injuries.
