Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

In mechanical terms, the Directive requires inspection of bladder-type fuel cells on specified Cessna 185 serial numbers per Cessna SIL SE 84‑4, recording results in the aircraft logbook and purging the fuel system where wrinkles or folds are found. It applies to owners/operators and maintenance personnel of affected Cessna 185s, who bear inspection, purging and record-keeping costs. The Directive incorporates revisions to Cessna service information (SIL SE 84‑9), adds logbook requirements and removes fuel-cap testing (now addressed by a separate directive).
