AD/CESSNA 185/29 - Fuel Vent Tube - CANCELLED

This is an aviation safety directive that cancels an old inspection requirement for specific aircraft.

What it affects: Cessna 185 series aeroplanes (small single-engine aircraft).

What it does: It officially scraps a 1978 safety rule that required owners to check whether the fuel vent tube was installed correctly on certain aircraft.

Why it matters: The original rule was put in place because some planes left the factory with potentially dangerous fuel vent tube installations. However, after nearly 30 years, aviation safety authorities confirm that every affected aircraft has already been inspected and fixed. Since the safety risk no longer exists, the inspection requirement is being removed to reduce unnecessary regulatory burden on aircraft owners and operators.

The cancellation takes effect on 14 February 2008.
