Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD requires Cessna 185 amphibian aircraft fitted with Scott nose‑wheel assemblies to retire the nose‑wheel pivot bolt on a fixed hours schedule: bolts already at 500+ hours by 31 Jan 1974 must be retired within the next 100 hours and every 600 hours thereafter; all others before 600 hours and then every 600 hours.

It affects aircraft owners/operators, maintenance organisations and the regulator, creating recurring replacement costs, recordkeeping burdens, and potential downtime to manage component life and compliance.
