Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is an Airworthiness Directive (AD) — a mandatory safety rule issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) that tells aircraft owners what inspections or repairs they must carry out.

What the original directive required: This rule applied specifically to Cessna 180, 182 and Wren 460 series aeroplanes that had been repaired by a particular maintenance company (Capricorn Aircraft Repair in Thangool, Queensland) between 1985 and 1990. Owners had to perform a one-off inspection of those specific repairs at their next scheduled maintenance check.

What this document does: This instrument cancels the previous directive. The safety inspection is no longer required because the deadline for compliance passed long ago, and the directive is now obsolete.
