Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of specified Cessna 180/182 and Wren 460 series aeroplanes (listed by serial number) to carry out inspections and corrective action per Cessna Service Instruction SE 83-18 for the aileron hinge pin retaining split‑pin holes. Compliance is required within 100 hours time‑in‑service after 31 January 1984 or at the next scheduled Maintenance Release inspection, whichever is later. The rule addresses the risk that incorrectly located retaining holes could allow hinge‑pin migration and loss, affecting roll control.
