Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of certain Cessna 180/182 and Wren 460 aeroplanes modified under specified Robertson STCs to inspect aileron balance weights within 50 flight-hours. Weights about 3/4 inch are acceptable; weights about 1/2 inch must be replaced and the ailerons rebalanced per the STC, Robertson SB No. 20 or the Cessna Service Manual. The directive aims to prevent destructive aileron flutter and imposes inspection, parts and maintenance costs on operators.
