Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This maintenance safety rule requires owners of Cessna 182P/Q aircraft with a King KFC‑200 autopilot to have mechanics test the electric trim travel time (full up to full down and back). The travel must be 32–48 seconds; if not, the trim must be modified per King Installation Bulletin 215 Alert. It’s intended to prevent uncontrollable trim runaway by keeping trim slow enough for pilot recovery. Compliance: within 100 flight hours after 31 Oct 1982.
