Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners of specified 1979-model Cessna 180, 182 and R182 aeroplanes (as listed by serial number) to inspect the fuel tank filler necks for correct length and replace any incorrect parts using Cessna Service Information Letter No. SE79-33.

The filler neck also serves as a fuel gauge; an incorrect part can misread fuel quantity and risk fuel exhaustion. Inspections and replacements must be done within 100 flight hours after 30 September 1979.
