Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is a safety order requiring specific Cessna 182 aircraft to undergo a mechanical fix on their nosewheel (the front landing gear wheel). The "closure collar" is a component that helps secure the nosewheel assembly, and this directive mandates action to prevent potential failure during takeoff or landing.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 182 aeroplanes with serial numbers between 18261427 and 18261559 (approximately 133 specific aircraft).

What must be done: Aircraft operators must complete the repair or inspection procedure described in Cessna Service Letter SE73-2, Item 1. This work had to be completed within 100 hours of flying time after 28 February 1973.
