Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Cessna 180, 182 and Wren 460 series aeroplanes fitted with plastic control wheels to inspect those wheels using Cessna Service Letter No. 64‑8. The inspections respond to reports of cracking and failures. Operators must arrange and bear the cost of the inspections. Inspections are to be repeated at intervals not exceeding 500 hours time‑in‑service. The amendment removes the earlier Service Letter (SL 62‑44) but keeps the same compliance timing.
