Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Owners/operators of Cessna 177 aircraft (serials 17700001–17701160) must inspect the oil pressure gauge line along its full length from firewall to instrument panel, pay attention to identified chafing-risk locations, and adjust the line as needed to prevent chafing. The work (inspection and any adjustments) is the operator’s responsibility and had to be completed within 100 hours time-in-service after 29 March 1974, reducing chafing-related gauge failures.
