Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This rule requires owners/operators of specified Cessna 177, 177RG, and F177RG airplanes (listed serial ranges) to perform repeated inspections of the vertical-fin forward attachment bulkhead per Cessna Service Letter SE73-40. The first check is due within 100 flight hours after Feb 28, 1974, and must be repeated every 100 flight hours until the bulkhead is replaced with the redesigned part. The measure prevents possible tail‑fuselage structural failure and loss of control.
