Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD requires owners/operators of Cessna 177 aircraft that have exceeded 500 hours (and have not been modified per Cessna SL SE72-21 or Rex Aviation RA‑C‑1258) to inspect the front door pillar area around the aileron pulley bracket for cracks. An initial inspection is required within 100 flight hours after 28 Jan 1972 and must be repeated at 100‑hour intervals. Cracked pillars can compromise fuselage integrity and risk structural failure in flight.
