Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of Cessna 170, 172, F172, FR172 and 175 series aeroplanes fitted with plastic control wheels to inspect those wheels in accordance with Cessna Service Letter No. 64‑8 at intervals not exceeding 500 hours time‑in‑service. The amendment deletes the earlier Service Letter SL 62‑44 because SL 64‑8 supersedes it; it was issued after reports of in‑service cracking and failures of plastic control wheels.
