Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of CASA C-212 aeroplanes fitted with Parker fuel pumps P/N A/M 2C37-2 to inspect the pump cover for signs of electrical arcing and, if arcing is found, to carry out corrective work specified in Construcciones Aeronáuticas S A document COM 212-252. Inspections must occur within 100 hours time-in-service after 30 January 1997 and, if clear, repeat every 300 hours; any arcing found must be fixed before further flight.

The operator bears inspection and repair costs; finding arcing stops the aircraft from flying until remedied, and completing the corrective work ends the need for the repetitive checks.
