What it does
This Airworthiness Directive (AD) imposes mandatory corrective, placarding, documentation and inspection actions on all CAP 232 series aeroplanes before they may fly again. The AD requires operators to insert a specific Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) supplement (modifying AFM sections 1.4, 2.2 and 2.16), to install a cockpit limitation placard as indicated in Annex A of AMICALE de VOLTIGE AERIENNE (AVA) Service Bulletin No. 2006-01 Ed. 1.2, and to alter the approved maintenance programme to include the repetitive inspection requirements contained in paragraph B of AVA Service Bulletin No. 2006-01 Ed. 1. The AD conditions further work on structural reinforcements: after any necessary repairs and after reinforcement of bulkheads No. 2 and No. 3 by implementation of AVA-STC-2006-01 Rev 01 (specified as to be performed by AIR MENUISERIE, described in the AD as the sole approved organisation), operators must then proceed to reinforcement of bulkhead No. 1 in accordance with paragraph A of AVA Service Bulletin No. 2006-01 Ed. 1.3. Once those requirements are accomplished, a new weighing and balancing of the aircraft must be performed as set out in the service bulletin. The AD is framed as a “Return to Flight - Modification/Reinforcement” directive and is linked to an EASA AD (EASA AD 2006-0211R1-E). The AD’s compliance deadline is explicit: the listed actions are required “Before further flight.” Amendment 1 to the AD was issued in response to a revision of the related EASA AD and the AD text records effective dates and the authority issuing the directive.
