| Applicability: | CAP 10B aircraft from serial number 300 to 310 inclusive and CAP 10B aircraft from serial number 1 to 40 inclusive that have been retrofitted with a carbon/wood wing ref. 5702-0104048. |

| Requirement: | Inspect for correct gluing/bonding of the four (4) mounting blocks of the control stick base cover and perform corrective actions as specified in the accomplishment instructions of APEX AIRCRAFT SB No. 031004 Revision 1, unless previously accomplished in accordance with SB No. 031004 original issue, dated11 February 2004. |
| Compliance: | At the next scheduled maintenance inspection, but no later than 6 months from the effective date of this AD. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 14 February 2008. | |
| Background: | Several cases of bond failure discovered in the control stick mounting blocks has resulted in the issue of this Airworthiness Directive to inspect and if necessary repair inadequate or failed bonds. Failure of the bond could result in separation of the mounting blocks from the wing spar with consequent partial or complete loss of aileron and elevator control. |
