Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This mandatory safety order for Eurocopter BO 105 helicopters requires immediate and recurring inspection of rotating control-rod (spherical) bearings after the manufacturer found cracking that could lead to loss of flight controls. It applies to owners, operators, pilots and maintenance engineers: pilots must perform daily manual checks for free movement, mechanics must carry out a detailed inspection within the short compliance window, and replacement bearings must be inspected before installation. The goal is to prevent bearing failure and potential crashes.
