Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This directive requires owners/operators of Bell 47G4, 47G4A and 47G5 helicopters used for agricultural spraying to inspect and, if needed, replace flexible engine oil hoses per Bell Service Letter No. 47-164. The first check is within 25 hours’ flight time after 16 Dec 1970 and must be repeated each time a new Maintenance Release is issued. It prevents hose degradation and leaks that can cause catastrophic engine failure.
