Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires inspections of the stabilizer bar tubes and tie rods on all Bell 47 series helicopters to detect cracks, following the procedures in the cited Bell/Kawasaki-Bell service bulletins. It applies to all models and may be carried out and certified either by the pilot‑in‑command (with the AD reference entered on the maintenance release) or by a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer. It matters because it creates a mandatory inspection and record‑keeping obligation for operators and maintainers.
