AD/BELL 430/8 - Lateral Control Tube Assembly

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Bell 430 helicopters (serial numbers 49001–49018, 49020–49036, 49038) to replace the lateral control tube assembly (P/N 430-001-018-101) and rework the forward fairing (P/N 430-061-822-101) following Part 2 of BHTC Alert Service Bulletin 430-98-6 or a later Transport Canada–approved revision (Requirement; Applicability). Compliance must be done by 26 November 2006; the AD took effect 26 October 2006. The measure responds to reported chafing that could cause the tube to bind (Background). Operators pay for and arrange the work; the regulator enforces the deadline.
