Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive mandates a one-time inspection and, if necessary, repair of flight‑control bearings on specified Bell 427 helicopters, carried out in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin 427‑09‑25 (or later revisions approved by the Chief, Continuing Airworthiness). Compliance is required within 10 flight hours or 30 days of the AD’s effective date (14 Aug 2009).

It affects owners/operators of serial numbers 56001–56073, 58001 and 58002, who must fund and arrange the work and may face short operational downtime. The AD responds to unstaked bearings that could limit control and risk loss of control (see Transport Canada AD CF‑2009‑32 and BHTC OSN GEN‑09‑38).
