Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners of Bell 412 helicopters (serials 33001–33134) equipped with certain passenger, stretcher, or certification kits to inspect and, if needed, replace AM-SAFE harness buckles that can release under sideways load.

Work must follow Bell Alert Service Bulletin 412-87-28 and be completed by the aircraft’s next Maintenance Release after 9 April 1987 or within 100 flight hours, whichever is later. The defect could let occupants detach from their harnesses in turbulence or an accident.
