Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

What it does: This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Bell 407 helicopters fitted with Breeze Eastern BL-16600 (except BL-16600-160) rescue hoists to perform a one‑time inspection of the hoist mounting bracket in accordance with Breeze Eastern Customer Aerospace Advisory Bulletin CAB‑100‑56. It is issued under subregulation 39.1(1) of CAR 1998 and must be done before the next use of the rescue hoist after 6 November 2002.

Operators pay for inspections and any remedial work. The measure addresses reported bracket cracking that could allow the hoist to separate from the helicopter.
