Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires regular visual inspections of the forward bearing hanger support on Bell 407 helicopters (S/N 53000–53442) fitted with flywheel 407-040-316-101, every 25 flight hours, and replacement of the support before further flight if a crack is found.

CASA issued the directive after cracks were discovered; inspections must follow BHTC Alert Service Bulletin 407-01-39 (later revisions accepted) to reduce the risk of loss of tail-rotor drive/control.
