AD/BELL 212/51 - Fin To Tail Boom Junction - CANCELLED

What this does This document officially cancels a previous safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that required owners of Bell 212 helicopters to inspect a specific part of the aircraft.

The old requirement The cancelled rule required a one-time inspection of the junction where the tail fin connects to the tail boom. This had to be done by May 1992. The rule was created after engineers found a crack in an Australian helicopter and was unique to Australia (not based on manufacturer instructions).

Why it matters Because this directive is now cancelled, owners and operators of Bell 212 helicopters no longer need to perform this specific inspection to comply with this rule. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has determined the safety measure is no longer necessary.
