Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires all owners and operators of Bell Helicopter Textron 212 series helicopters to inspect and remove counterfeit pressure gauges on emergency flotation systems per Bell OSN-GEN-89-14. Counterfeit gauges have exploded at low pressure, posing serious injury risk to maintenance personnel; replacing them with genuine, airworthy gauges prevents such hazards. Compliance is required by the earlier of the next Maintenance Release inspection after 28 Feb 1990 or before the next reservoir charge.
