Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive prohibits the use of uncertified tension-torsion straps installed on Bell 212 main rotors and requires compliance with Bell’s Alert Service Bulletin 212-89-55 to inspect and replace them by the stated deadline.

It applies to all Bell 212 owners, operators and maintenance personnel — because these uncertified straps compromise main-rotor integrity and risk catastrophic failure, immediate inspection and replacement is mandatory.
