Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive orders owners of specified Bell 212 helicopters (S/Ns 30504–31277 and 32101–32142) fitted with certain Emergency Flotation Kit part numbers to inspect/replace a potentially failing squib valve per Bell Alert Service Bulletin No. 212‑87‑42. If the squib fails, flotation may not inflate and the helicopter could sink in a water landing. Work must be done within the stated flight‑hour/date compliance window; prior compliance must be repeated under this amendment.
