Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Bell 212 helicopters with main rotor grips reworked by Bell Helicopter Textron (where the grip bushings were replaced) to inspect and correct blade bolts and grip assemblies per Bell Alert Service Bulletin No. 212-85-37.

The work—required within 100 flight hours after March 31, 1985, or at the next scheduled maintenance—addresses improper clearance between the blade bolt head and grip bushing to prevent rotor-system mechanical failure.
